Caterer Requirements

All events require a licensed and insured caterer. Caterers must be contracted directly by the client, and must adhere to the following requirements.

  • Certificate of Insurance
    Only fully licensed and insured caterers may be used at the Shane Center. The Caterer must provide a Certificate of Insurance providing evidence of one (1) current Comprehensive General Liability Insurance Policy in a minimum amount of $1 million combined public liability for personal injury and property damage naming the Ronald W. Shane Center, 6500 Indian Creek Drive, Miami Beach, FL 33141, as the insured. Caterer’s Certificate of Insurance and State of Florida Business License must be filed with the Shane Center sixty (60) days prior to event. If proof of insurance and business license are not received in accordance with this Agreement, this will cause the Client to be in breach of their Contract with the Shane Center and the Shane Center has the right to refuse Caterer access to the premise.
  • Liquor Liability Insurance
    Only fully licensed and insured caterers may be used at The Shane Center. The caterer must provide a Liquor Liability Certificate of Insurance providing evidence of one (1) current Comprehensive general Liability Insurance Policy in a minimum amount of $1 million combined public liability for personal injury and property damage naming The Ronald W. Shane Center, 6500 Indian Creek Drive, Miami Beach, FL 33141, as the insured. Caterer’s Certificate of Insurance must be filed with The Shane Center sixty (60) days prior to event. If proof of insurance and business license are not received in accordance with this Agreement, this will cause the Client to be in breach of their Contract with the Shane Center and the Shane Center has the right to refuse Caterer access to the premise. In addition, only a certified bartender can be used to dispense alcoholic beverages. Clients and caterers acknowledge that it is illegal for anyone to give, serve or sell alcoholic beverages to any person under age 21.
  • Clean up
    • Caterer is responsible for bringing sufficient trash bags and any and all other clean up supplies or materials for the event. The Shane Center does not stock and will not provide any such supplies or materials. • Clean up of the ovens, tabletops, sinks, kitchen floors and any other equipment used is required. • The banquet hall and terrace floors must be swept of any trash/debris left behind from event. • Caterer is responsible for promptly cleaning any food/drink spills throughout the event for the safety of guests and staff. • Caterer may not dispose of any drinks, ice, water, etc. on the grounds. The catering area’s sink and drain are to be used for this purpose. Caterer will ensure sinks are not clogged or items are left in the drain. Stirs, straws, lemons/limes or any other items are to be disposed of in the trash bins provided by The Shane Center. • Failure to clean up and/or clear out debris or other obstructions from sinks may result in the caterer and client being responsible for any and all costs incurred in cleaning up the event, kitchen or other utilized space and/or the debris from sinks and drains.
  • Trash Removal
    Caterers are responsible for the removal of all trash, off premises, immediately after the event. Failure to remove all event related trash from the Shane Center will result in a $400 fee plus staff hourly rate of $35. The trash removal fee and staff fee shall be withheld from the Client’s security deposit.
  • Equipment
    Caterer shall take all equipment, supplies, dishes and food with them at the end of the event. Items rented from another vendor, are the responsibility of the caterer and shall be removed or caused to be removed by the caterer. There will be NO DEEP FRYERS, GRILLS or any catering equipment that is considered “OPEN FLAME” permitted at The Shane Center.
  • Staff
    Caterers shall have enough professional staff, including a designated manager, on duty to service the event and clean up properly. All employees, independent contractors or agents of the caterer shall adhere to the rules and regulations of the Shane Center. Staff shall display courteous and professional deportment at all times. Wandering and exploring the facility and the grounds is strictly prohibited and violation of this provision may result in the offending person(s) removal from the facility.
